Thank you for looking into it. In order for the hotkey to work to switch profiles, I need to activate the new profile with the keyboard combo, wait for it to change, then it changes back to the old profile. I activate the new profile again and it sticks. It happens every time. Love the software, though!

For example, my setup goes like this: 1=small laptop screen, 2=27" monitor, 3=27" monitor. And that all sits left to right. If Outlook is on monitor 2 at my desk, when I unhook and go to a focus room and hook back up, I want Outlook to be on monitor 2. That is not happening. Outlook is shifting to monitor 1. When I chosse to load a profile I saved, (where Outlook was on monitor 2), it still shows up on monitor 1.

Windows doesn’t natively duplicate desktop icons across extended monitors. Strange. ATM the issue is gone... But I stopped and started DF a few minutes ago.
.... a reboot later.... Issue reapears. Restarting DF solved this issue.
But now OpenShell does not open the start menu. Stopping DF solved that. WTF?
OpenShell ist still working after starting DF again.
... a few hours later...
Even after that time (and more open windows), I do not have the original issue. Maybe it just happens when DF is started during logon.

Hi DisplayFusion Team,

Currently, when using the Monitor Fading feature (e.g. "Fade all monitors except current"), a dimmed monitor only un-fades after clicking on an application on that display to change window focus.

It would be a great quality-of-life improvement to add an option that un-fades a monitor as soon as the mouse cursor enters that screen (on mouse hover), without requiring a mouse click.

Proposed Option:
[ ] Un-fade monitor on mouse hover / cursor entry

Use Case:
When working across multiple monitors, users often move the cursor to a secondary screen just to inspect or read something without changing the active window on the main screen. Requiring a click to remove the dark overlay breaks this workflow.

Thank you for considering this feature!

I've been trying to fix this with AI before coming here, but not having much luck...

In DisplayFusion 12.1.1, switching wallpaper profiles with the slideshow running causes the next timer update to use the previous profile’s image source. Pressing the same profile hotkey again uses the correct source. Switching while the slideshow is paused works.

***

From some of the troubleshooting:
10:05:41: You select zSys-1920, but immediately afterward the slideshow chooses images from the previous Planets-Distance folder. [Log evidence (line 857)]

***

10:06:00: You press the same zSys-1920 shortcut again. DisplayFusion says that profile is already active, then selects images from the correct folder. [Second-press evidence (line 947)]

Yeah it's weird, even when using *\, it doesn't seem to always be working. Teams is the main offender (as it always is) but it's happened with other applications as well.

I have a Once Per Process ID setup for Teams to move its window to a certain position at launch because it never remembers its last one. Looks like the attached but it's still launching in its default size.

I also updated an app I have called Android Messages this morning that is setup in a similar way and when it launched, it didn't snap to the right position either.

Could it matter that when DF doesn't relocate them, that I use Windows 11 Zones to position them instead? What I've done is use Zones to set the windows the way I want, then use the target function in the trigger to pull the display and window position based on that.

Thanks.

Here is what I have done, and also do currently.
At my main "desk/station". I arranged the various apps (Outlook, web, office apps, etc.) on the monitors I like for them to be on while I work. I then saved that as a provile I called "Standard Monitor Seteup" (or something like that). Later that day, I undocked and went to a focus room. I then went and chose DisplayFusion and clikced to load the Windows Profile I saved. "Things" started to happen as I saw apps sort of move around on the screens. After about 10-15 seconds things appear to have settled down. But, many of the apps showed up on monitors that are not in the profile.
The profile I saved is on monitors 1, 2, 3. In each desk or focus room I sit, the monitor is set up like that - left to tight: 1, 2, 3.
One thing your question makes me think of though. I saved only one profile. I assumed this save the profile for the entire (3 monitor) arrangement. Your question makes me wonder if I was supposed to save a profile for each of the three montitors?

I'm wondering if it's a hooking issue but I would expect there to be other weird things happening too.
