If you like your mysteries hard-boiled, then check out the stories of Steve Olley. His inventive plots are intelligent and fast paced, with memorable characters set in a world that comes vividly to life. I have read several of them and have been entertained every time. But don't take my word for it, download one and see for yourself. They don't disappoint.
Since his first publication in Futures Mystery Anthology Magazine, his stories have appeared in other mystery magazines all around the web. Hopefully I will be able to post up more of his work in the near future.

The Grasleben Cross was the first of Steve's stories to be published, and appeared in the July/August 2006 edition of Futures Mystery Anthology Magazine.
Joe Wilson's brother was a private detective. When he ends up dead, Joe investigates his last case. He soon realizes his brother was involved in a deadly business. Involving an odd collection of characters, all in search of a priceless treasure called The Grasleben Cross.
