Using and Setting up the HotKeys

  • Rick-click the DisplayFusion system tray icon, and click “Settings” in the menu that appears
  • Once the Settings window opens, click on the “HotKeys” tab if it isn’t already selected

DisplayFusion Settings

  • Select a hotkey in the list and it’s associated key combination will be shown in the box above the list
  • For example: The hotkey for “Move active window to next monitor” is “Ctrl + Win + X”
  • Once you have selected a hotkey just click the button labeled “Change” to change it’s associated hotkey

  • Use the drop-down boxes to select at least 1 modifier (the Alt, Ctrl, Shift or Windows (Start) keys)
  • Enter a key in the last box. It can be a letter, number, symbol or something else, like the arrow keys.
  • All the changes you make to the hotkeys get saved and take effect when you close this window
  • If you would like to revert back to the default hotkeys just click the “Reset All Keys to Default” button

Setup your Desktop Wallpaper

  • Rick-click the system tray icon, and click “Desktop Wallpaper” in the menu that appears

  • Once the Wallpaper window opens, you will see your monitors represented at the top, and options at the bottom

  • First, select which “Background Mode” you would like to use:
    • I want the background to span the entire Desktop
      • The settings in the “Background Options” box will apply to your entire desktop
    • I want to use a different background for each Monitor
      • The settings in the “Background Options” box will apply to the currently selected Monitor
      • The monitor that is currently selected will have a red box drawn around it
      • Just click on a monitor to select it
    • Adjust Background for use with Active Desktop
      • This option is provided for people that use Active Desktop. It will be checked automatically if Active Desktop is enabled, but if DisplayFusion can’t detect Active Desktop and you are using Active Desktop just check this to properly adjust the wallpaper.
  • Choosing your Background Options:
    • Select an image (optional) by clicking the “Browse” button and browsing to an image on your computer
    • You can clear an image by clicking the “Clear” button. This will get rid of the image and just use the selected colour
    • You can load an image from Flickr by clicking the “Load from Flickr” button. You can search by using keywords, group names or user’s names
    • Select an image Size Mode
    • If you don’t want to use an image, or your image has gaps between it and the monitor’s edge it is important to select a Colour as well
  • Background Image Positioning:
    • Use this to fine tune the image’s position on your monitor by moving the image up, down, left and right
    • Either use the buttons or type in a pixel value to move the image
  • Once you have setup your wallpaper the way you want it, just click the “Ok” button to apply it
  • If you want to apply the wallpaper without closing this window just click the “Apply” button. This is useful when using the Image Position controls to get it just right
  • Your wallpaper will be generated and saved to your computer
  • You don’t need to re-apply your wallpaper on every reboot, and you don’t need to have DisplayFusion running for your custom wallpaper to be shown.
