Error with IE

As soon as I open IE (version 8.0.6001.18702IC), ASP.NET ViewState Helper shows this message in the lower left corner beside the IE icon.

    Error: Interface not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040155)

I'm using ASP.NET ViewState Helper v 1.4.1.
I have .NET Frameworks 1, 1.1, 2, 3, and 3.5 installed.  I am running VS 2008 SP1.

What version of Windows and Internet Explorer are you using?

If you are still experiencing this problem, I would suggest disabling any anti-virus or anti-malware software to see if it's interfering with the cross-application operations.
