Tower of Goo. Do you remember that gem from a while ago? Well, apparently the boys behind this magic have been hard at work and have just started taking pre-orders for WORLD OF GOO. The only thing I can’t figure out is why you’re still reading this blog post and you haven’t ordered it yet? When you order it in advance you get chapter 1 to mess around with until the full game is released. Heck, for $20, chapter 1 alone has given me more enjoyment than many other games I have purchased over the years. Here’s a quick video so you can see the awesome-ness for yourself.
My only beef with the game is that is uses online activation. Boo to that. What happens in 10 years from now when I have the urge for some nostalgic gaming? No activation means no play.
As a fellow software developer I know how frustrating software piracy can be. I have found cracked copies of DisplayFusion lurking around the internet in seedy places. Does this upset me? A bit. Does this want to make me use online activation? Not a chance. People who are going to pirate it will just use cracks instead of key generators to get around the protection and the only people who will be inconvenienced are the people that actually purchased legitimate copies.
Now, enough ranting, time to head back to the glorious World of Goo.
