Hurray, I Passed My MCP Test

Thu, Nov 29, 2007

Personal

The wait is finally over. This morning I wrote and passed my MCP exam for C# web development. This feels pretty good, as I have been programming for around 15 years but I have no formal education, so this should help my resume look somewhat more legitimate now. :) What feels even better is that I passed the test without ever reading the book that accompanies the exam, instead I chose to do few practice tests to get warmed up and see how the real test would be structured. I was very nervous going in as I wasn’t sure if I really knew as much as I hoped that I did. But, it turns out that I have learned something over the past few years messing around with .NET. So, hurray! High-fives all around.

Trust me, I don’t let him. I have just contacted him so hopefully he’ll stop scraping my blog’s content.

http://akismet.com/ do you have that installed? I’ve been using it for years now - hardly ever get any kind of spam

I was using SK2 previously, but it doesn’t seem to catch bad trackbacks. I just installed Akismet so we’ll see how that runs for the next few days.

Congrats! Those MS exams can be a little tricky as occasionally it’ll throw a curve ball at you. (Most often a question that has more than one right answer.) Of course, I’ve only taken the MCDST thus far (soon will be taking Sharepoint) so I’m not sure if the programming exams are different. Anyways, it’ll definitely help with the resume!
