Personal

Last weekend I made the long drive to Ottawa to hang out with some friends that I haven’t seen in quite some time.  It was a blast of a weekend, filled with Super Mario Galaxy, Guitar Hero 3, Forza 2, Assassin’s Creed and last, but not least, the Coyote Rock gym.  I would have to say that the Coyote Rock gym was the most fun I’ve had indoor’s at a gym.  It is intense exercise that works your complete body, but it’s not boring like doing bench presses or running on a treadmill at a regular gym.  The afternoon started out with a quick “crash” course on how to work the ropes.

Followed up by some messing around in the “boulder” rooms.  They provide marked routes on low, but technical, climbing walls.  You start at #1 and work your way up to #50.  This is Andy attempting to do #14.  I think the highest I managed to do was #7.

And here’s Andy after abandoning the climb. :)  This seemed to happen quite frequently with all of us.  It was a very rare occasion that we could tackle a route on the first try.

What a blast!  I can’t wait to head back to Ottawa as soon as possible, which might not be until the spring.  But next time I’m bringing the whole family.
