Can Your OS Copy Files?

Because mine apparently can’t. How long do you think it should take to copy 370 files totaling 4.04 MB (yes, that’s megabytes) to a network share? 10 seconds? 5 seconds? Maybe less? Well, if you’re lucky enough to be using Windows Vista like me then you’re in for a 1 minute, 13 second wait. Maybe you can get that snack you’ve been craving while you wait, or maybe you can have a quick nap. Seriously, what year is that? I’m pretty sure that my old 286 could move 4 MB worth of data in less than a minute.

Well, you have to think about moving those files across that Vista…….it is just SO wide open! They may get lost out there, or attacked by indians………and that connestoga file train ………
