ConceptRS

I just wanted to let everyone know the status of the ConceptRS project. Life for me has been quite busy lately (as it does for everyone from time to time) so I haven’t had as much time to dedicate to the project as I’d like. The project, however, is far from dead. As everyone on the team can verify, we started out with some huge momentum. We currently have backing from hardware providers like NaturalPoint with the TrackIR, and community sites like the fantastic BlackHole Motorsports site. Once my life quiets down a bit this project will build up steam again. The biggest task (read: stumbling block) right now is getting the physics just right. We started out using ODE, then switched Newton but have recently switched back to ODE again. Still with no real luck with any of them. They all “work” but I just haven’t been happy with them.

So here’s my request. If you have any experience either tuning a 3rd party physics engine (anything, not just ODE) or you have experience with writing your own, we want you! Just drop me a line at jtackabury@binaryfortress.com and we can talk.

Well, that wraps up this rather long-winded post for now, but feel free to post any comments/questions/etc that you have about the project in the Forum.
